Accessibility
Ever wonder how a computer can be made accessible to everyone? That is exactly what we covered in this week’s class. Input and Output devices are the fundamental peripheral devices a computer used to run. Input devices are what are used to feed the computer with data such as a keyboard while output devices are used to present processed data such as a monitor. However, there are devices that serve both purposes and are known as input-output (I/O) devices. So how may have they been implemented to make it user friendly? Some of these devices have been specially designed to aid a user who may be physically challenged. For example, braille to help the visually impaired, an olfactory can produce smell, a rain detector and so on.
So therefore, we were divided into
groups wot try and come up with an explanation what these devices are and how
they may function. So my group was able to cover output devices where I have
attached a PowerPoint presentation that may help in understanding. ( Output Devices.pptx )
Another task was to try and explain how use of a computer can be made possible to people facing different physical impairments which was also done in groups. My group was able to cover how a dyslexic person may use a computer with the aid of these devices. Also, attached is a PowerPoint presentation that has made it easier to understand. ( DYSLEXIA.pptx )
